Digital Series, Dark Comedy / Satire
Day Players is a six-episode digital series about egomaniacal actors participating in what they believe is a prestigious acting class with the hopes of achieving stardom. This is not an inside-baseball show about struggling actors. This is a satire that aims to skewer the very idea of a show about “trying to become famous”.
After writing the original 30-minute pilot, which one some awards including the IndieFEST awards for Best TV Pilot and Best Script, as well as a Canadian Comedy Award, we independently produced our digital series. Acting a head writer and co-producer, I ran a writers’ room to develop the overall creative vision for the show, the characters and each individual episode script.
In 2024, Day Players made its debut screening as an official SeriesFest selection.
