As described by the creators, “Dash Punks is a 2.5d Competitive party game that takes place on an abusive TV game show.”
I wrote dialogue and character barks for this indie game produced by fellow Vancouver Film School alumni.
This was my first ever experience writing for an interactive medium — and it’s one of the reasons Vancouver Film School is so great. You’re embedded with a dozens of other hungry, talented artists who are constantly looking to collaborate and bring a projects to life. As a result, you have lots of opportunities for new learning experiences.
Dash Punks was one of those learning experiences. Myself and a few other writing graduates were asked to volunteer our time to write both snarky, satirical dialogue for the announcer character, as well as barks for each of the playable characters.
It was a fun exercise to align on tone, pitch lines of dialogue and of course, to be able to play our work.
